Dearest Reader,
This website where the information you have or about to read has been sourced from libraries, books, and other various sources. Therefore the photographs in the photo gallery have been sourced from my personal collection of photos as well as images that I do not own collected from books, and the worldwide web.
I have created this website to educate those wishing to learn about the small interurban railroad that ran through Northern Aroostook County, Maine. Upon my own creation of this website I have heard many memories recited about the small girl who road the electric trolley car or the uncle who worked at the engine house on Parson Street in Presque Isle. I have also compiled various facts from other sources. The Caribou Maine Public Library as well as the Presque Isle Public Library have been a great source of information. Yet the most well written and collection of photography gathered in one book is as follows: Aroostook Valley Railroad; History of the Potatoland Interurban in Northern Maine written by Charles Helstine and Edwin Robertson.
Upon exploring this website I hope you recieve the information you may have been curious for and that the information you recieve is understanable, intriguing and interesting. Even if you; the reader is not interested in history and stories or accounts visit the photo gallery, where you can learn just as much visually as you can reading. Thank you for visiting this webpage and I hope it has enrichened your education about the 32 mile railroad in Aroostook County, Maine; the most beautiful place on Earth.
Sincerely,
Lukas Lagasse
